SNOW!!!!

We woke up this morning to a beautiful snow covered house and yard! I was so excited about David's first snow! I saw the snow at 4:30am when I was up with him, and was so anxious to show it to him when it was light enough outside.
I bundled him up and put him in the bumbo for a photoshoot. I got my christmas card out of these, so I'm not posting the best ones, just some to show you just how cute my baby was in the snow!

Wondering where his hands went?

Sick of mommy taking pictures!

Honest Scrap

Honest Scrap Award
I received this award from my dear friend Samantha. I got the award because of my pictures of sweet David, so I will add a few new ones at the bottom...just for you Sam!

Rules for the award:1. Must thank the person who gave you the award and list their blog and link it.2. Share "10 Honest things" about yourself.3. Present this award to 7 others whose blogs you find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged you.4. Tell those 7 people they've been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving the award.

10 Honest things:
1. I love the fact that I am the only girl with four brothers! I enjoy everything that came with growing up in a large family, and if I could convince JD to, I would have a big family too!

2. I love living in Huntsville. Even though I didn't grow up here, I feel very at home. After only living here for 2 1/2 years I have wonderful friends and feel very at ease in this great place.

3. I love soap operas, especially One Life to Live.

4. I really enjoyed being pregnant. Even the scary really tough times. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

5. I hate laundry. Everything about it. Piles, starting it, switching it over, folding and putting it away. You can forget ironing!

6. I like a clean house. It doesn't always happen, but I really wish my house was nice and clean and picked up every day.

7. I really enjoy giving gifts. I really don't care much about receiving them, I just love the act of it. Bill Gates should hire me to give his money away instead of his wife.

8. I love my People Magazine subscription. As trashy as the magazine is, I still love it! (I know more about current events than most b/c of it!)

9. I love to cook and try new things, but I HATE cleaning up, so I don't do it very often.

10. I love my family and friends more than anything and would do just about anything for any of them.

Here are my 7:
1. Jamie Wilson-because I love your updates and after the wedding you have slacked. So pick it up sista!
2. Jamie Smith- I also love your posts on both your home site and the Square Cupboard.
3. Rebecca Wise -I love seeing what Raughley is doing because I know David will be doing the same thing in no time!
4. Sara Nowell- Because FE is the cutest little girl ever! And baby Cash looks just like her!
5. Lindsey Lingenfelter- because her pictures are awesome! and her kids are super awesome and cute!
6. Tracy Williford- Because I love her mommy advice (she used to give and needs to get back to it! She does have readers!) all of that, and I would LOVE to get my hands on sweet Avery's cheeks!
7. Chris- I just love reading about G's adventures.

4 Month checkup and a video

On Monday, David turned 4 months old. We went to the doctor that morning and he did great! He weighed in at 14lbs. 15oz!! and he was 25 inches long. All of his measurements were right in the 50th percentile. So we have a very average sized baby!
The doctor switched our formula to Nestle Good Start, which has been much easier on his stomach. David got 3 shots and 1 oral vaccination. He cried but didn't have any other side effects from the shots.
We started rice cereal around Thanksgiving and David really loves it. I asked the doctor about starting him on real food, and he said when he got the hang of rice cereal, go ahead and start veggies, so I got to work on Tuesday and made lots of homemade baby food. Sweet peas, sweet potatoes, green beans & butternut squash. We froze most of it and had David try the sweet peas and sweet potatoes. He LOVED the potatoes, not so much on the sweet peas. We have progressed on the eating as of today and he is really liking all of it. The trick with the sweet peas was to add formula to thin it then mix it with rice cereal and then feed it to him.
I can't believe he is getting so big!
enjoy the video below of JD feeding David some rice cereal.

Thanksgiving (lots of pictures)

I do realize this post is extremely late, but better late than never!

We started our Thanksgiving celebrations in Meridian the weekend before Thanksgiving. We had a great time hanging out with all of my brothers and their dogs, and of course YaYa and Grandy. David got to hang out with them while Aunt Allyson and I went to see The Blind Side (awesome by the way). We did some shopping and lots of eating.

Here are several pictures from our trip:

After a VERY long car ride home, being stuck on the interstate for an extra 2 hours because of a wreck, David and I made it home only to turn around and go to Birmingham. We went to visit with Stephen and Liz and new Baby Cooper (Please send me pics Stephen!), Then went on to Jeris & Jordan's new house! We spent the night and got to wish Jeris a very Happy Birthday & Happy Thanksgiving all in one day!

At Jeris & Jordan's new house!

Happy Birthday & Happy Turkey Day Aunt Jeris!

We left Jeris and Jordans and went on to JD's Aunt & Uncles for the Family Thanksgiving.

Just in case you weren't sure who my kid looked like, check out this picture.

JD headed to Auburn with some friends for the Iron Bowl while I went on to surprise the Johnson Family on Thanksgiving. It was the first time the kids got to meet David. They were so excited!

Whew! What a Thanksgiving Holiday! We had SO much to be Thankful for and loved sharing the holiday with so many friends and family!

Soccer boy, new camera & more...

video

I have been away from blogging lately, but I've been kinda busy. Baby David has been keeping me tied up. Literally. He has reverted back to being a newborn who wants his mommy 24 hours a day. His tummy is upset a lot and so he wants to be held, talked to, played with, etc, which is exhausting.

On a fun note, I got a new camera for an early christmas present from JD (thanks a million babe). I upgraded from the Nikon D70 to the D90. It is an awesome camera that even has a video feature. So I contribute the video above to the new camera. This was one of David's happier moments today. He really does love to lay on this mat and kick that ball. Dixie loves to come and watch him do it too. (thinking he might kick the ball hard enough to come off and let her play with it!)

I promise to do better with blogging, for now, enjoy the video and look for more in the future!

Game Day

Roll Tide Roll!
Today, I FINALLY finished the outfit I smocked while pregnant then made half the outfit the morning David was born, then never finished it. Well I was bound and determined to finish it today and have him wear this outfit!! So, I finished sewing up the side, added the elastic and finished up the bottom, sewed on the Elephant buttons and put it on his little body!
The outfit seemed to be good luck too! What an exciting win over LSU!
JD and I are now going to make our arrangements to head to Atlanta in the beginning of December for the SEC Championship game against Florida.
Roll Tide!

I Love...

I Love this baby! I can't tell you how much I love David, but I'm going to give you reasons why I do:

How could you not love this face?
I love how he lights up and smiles when I walk in the room.
I love his precious smile.
I love the dimple on his cheek.
I love that he looks JUST like his Daddy.
I love that his eyes are still blue and that means he does have a tad bit of me in him.
I love his round belly.
I love that he LOVES bath time.
I love watching him sleep, he is so peaceful.
I love that he loves watching football on tv.
I love that he loves his dog. He isn't bothered by Dixie at all.
I love how my dog loves David too.
I love the fact that he depends on me for so much.
I love his tiny hands and feet.
I love that he has really started sleeping at night.
I love that his his hair is growing in and it is curly when wet!
I love that he lets me take pictures of him like I do.
I love absolutely EVERYTHING about him!
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE him!!
